Discreet 1.10.0: Automatic Recording, Apple Watch Live Preview, and a New Language Selector
Discreet 1.10.0 is now available, and it’s one of the most complete updates yet.
This release focuses on speed and convenience: the camera can now start recording the moment you open it, the Apple Watch companion gets a real live preview, and managing your Private Gallery is faster thanks to multi-select. On top of that, Discreet now offers a dedicated language selector and a long list of bug fixes. We’ve made Discreet even faster, more intuitive, and more reliable.
Automatic recording when you open the camera
The biggest change in 1.10.0 is automatic recording.
Until now, opening Discreet meant taking an extra step before you could start capturing. With this update, you can set the camera to start recording automatically as soon as it opens, so you never miss the moment that matters. This is especially useful when every second counts and reaching for a settings menu isn’t an option.
You can enable this behavior from the app Settings, and keep using the classic manual shutter whenever you prefer more control.
Live preview on Apple Watch
Discreet’s Apple Watch companion is now more useful than ever.
With 1.10.0, the Watch app shows a real live preview of what the iPhone camera sees, right on your wrist. Instead of triggering the shutter blind, you can frame your shot directly from the Watch and know exactly what you’re about to capture.
This makes the Watch companion a genuine second viewfinder, not just a remote shutter button.
New language selector
Discreet now includes a dedicated language selector inside the app.
Rather than relying only on your device’s system language, you can now choose the app’s language directly from Settings. This makes it easier to use Discreet in the language you’re most comfortable with, regardless of how your iPhone is configured.
Drag to select multiple items in the gallery
Managing photos and videos in the Private Gallery is now much faster.
With this update, you can drag across thumbnails to select multiple items at once, instead of tapping each one individually. Whether you’re deleting old clips or exporting a batch of photos, multi-select makes it a one-motion action.
Bug fixes and general improvements
Alongside these new features, 1.10.0 includes a range of bug fixes and general improvements across the app, making Discreet smoother and more dependable during everyday use.
